Section 4: Balsam Gap South on the Blue Ridge Parkway to Bear Pen Gap in the Nantahala National Forest

Approximately 24 miles

The MST ascends from the Blue Ridge Parkway into the Nantahala National Forest on trails and old forest roads. Wildflowers are abundant. No-trace camping allowed on national forest land.
