Section 26: Durham’s West Point on the Eno to Shinleaf State Recreation Area at Falls Lake

Approximately 29 miles

In August 2011, the FMST Board approved new hiking directions from Greensboro's Bryan Park to the Falls Lake dam north of Raleigh so that hikers could start using much of the new trail that has been built along the Haw and Eno rivers and on the western end of Falls Lake. You can also see the new route on the interactive google map on this website.

NOTICE: Bridge Site at Little Lick Creek - In November 2011, this area will become a construction site. We encourage you to stay away from the site for safety reasons. Use the road walk route in the hiking directions above to reach the other side of the creek until the bridge is done.

Camping is available by reservation at Rollingview State Recreation Area along this alternate route.
