June 2-3, 2007 and June 4-10, 2007 Blue Ridge Parkway Worktrip

Volunteers are needed to assist in clearing fallen tree limbs on the Mountains-to-Sea Trail along the Blue Ridge Parkway from NC-18 at Laurel Springs to NC-16 near Glendale Springs on National Trails Day weekend of June 2 and 3. In addition volunteers are needed for the entire week of June 4 through June 10 for maintenance on this section of the MST and to prepare it with white MST blazes and Parkway signs for its completion designation this fall. One assignment for National Trails Day is the construction of the final short piece from Jumpingoff Rocks (milepost 260.3) to NC-16. Volunteers meet at Jumpingoff Rocks parking area at 8:00 AM Saturday June 2. Bring lunch and water.Tools and gloves will be furnished.

From Winston Salem, take 421 N to Wilkesboro and then NC-16 to the Blue Ridge Parkway and head north to Jumping Off Rocks overlook. You MUST RSVP for this event!
