Hike the Newton Bald Trail in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park

Difficulty:  Strenuous

Kid Friendly?  Teenagers are welcome if they can handle a strenuous 11-mile hike

Meeting Place:  Mingus Mill Parking Lot near the Oconoluftee Visitor Center in the Great Smoky Mountain National Park

Description:  Explore this beautiful spur trail of the MST with a leader who knows the park and the MST intimately. The trail ascends 2900 feet in 5.4 miles.

What to Bring:  Water, lunch, high energy snacks, good hiking shoes, raingear
