Hike the new MST route through New Bern

Meet at 8:30 AM to arrange shuttles, hike starts at 9:00 AM

General Location: Coastal Plain, Craven County

Length:  Hike from downtown to lake and shuttle back from Glenburnie Park – 6.25 miles; Round trip hike – 10 miles

Difficulty:  Moderate

Kid Friendly?  Children under 18 must be escorted by an adult. No dogs.

Meeting Place:  Union Point Park/Trent River Bridge, 210 E. Front Street, New Bern, NC

Description:  We’re finalizing plans for a beautiful new route for the MST through New Bern, and this is your chance to get an early preview. We’ll start this hike at Union Point Park on the Neuse and Trent rivers in downtown New Bern. Then we’ll head east through downtown, past Tryon Palace and the historic New Bern Cemetery and then out to the city’s lake on the Neuse River. From the lake, we will hike to Glenburnie Park for shuttles that will bring you back to your car at Union Point Park. Limited to 20 hikers.  RSVP to John Jaskolka (see contact info above) required.

What to Bring:  Water, high energy snacks, good walking shoes, sunscreen and raingear.
