Trail Workday and Cookout on Falls Lake General Location: Triangle, Durham County Length: N/A Difficulty: Strenuous, but we can adjust to abilities. Kid Friendly? Not suitable for children under 12. Please check with the workday leader (see contact info below) before bringing older children. Contact: Jeff Brewer, 919-868-6274, jdbrewer@bellsouth.net Meeting Place: Red Mill Road - Take I-85 north. Turn left onto Red Mill Road. The worksite is just past Hamlin Road on Red Mill Road. Description: We’ve already built 43 miles of the MST at Falls Lake. Help build mile 44 at this fun workday and then join other volunteers for a celebratory cookout after the workday! Work may include using a rake and mattox (similar to a pickaxe), building wooden bridges and boardwalk, brush clearing, moving logs, and picking up debris. What to Bring: Breakfast is provided by Great Outdoor Provision Co., and coffee by Starbucks. Please wear work clothes and boots with ankle support, and bring plenty of water, lunch, snacks, gloves, rain gear and sunscreen. Tools will be supplied; but if you have any digging tools, feel free to bring your own. No experience necessary. Qualified teachers available.
