Dune Hike to the Start (or End) of the MST

General Location: Coast, Dare County, Nags Head

Length:  45 minutes

Difficulty:  Moderate to Strenuous

Kid Friendly?  Yes, as long as they don't mind the long hike up the dune.

Meeting Place:  At the covered pavilion in the corner of the parking lot at Jockey's Ridge State Park Visitor Center off Highway 158 Bypass in Nags Head (W. Carolista Drive, Nags Head, NC)

Description:  Join us for a hike to the beginning or end of the MST (depending on your perspective!). We'll hike to the top of the dune while discussing dunes, the sand, and the sights from the top. Be prepared for walking up a steep sand dune in soft sand.

What to Bring:  Shoes or sturdy sandals, sunglasses, hat, sunscreen and dress appropriate for the temperature.
